Overview

Inspired by true events that shook Sri Lanka between the 1970s and 1990s, Father is a gritty historical drama following the transformation of a religious young man into a symbol of resistance. Against a backdrop of state-sponsored violence and the turbulent 1988–89 insurrections, it is a story of a man who dared to challenge a corrupt system when no one else would.
